YOUR PATH TO INCREASED HOME COMFORT AND ENERGY SAVINGS

The Bright Homes Energy Savers Program is coming to town

Federal, state, and utility rebate programs are available now to qualified residents! Qualified homes may be eligible for up to $20,000 in energy efficient upgrades that increase the comfort and safety of your home and may lower your utility bills, including new HVAC heat pump systems, heat pump water heaters, induction stoves, and more. The Bright Homes Energy Savers Program supports residents in your energy saving journey by connecting you to approved contractors and supporting your home project from end-to-end.

WHAT’S AVAILABLE?

HEAT PUMP HEATING AND COOLING SYSTEM

  • In cooling mode, it works like an air conditioner, moving heat out of your home.

In heating mode, it pulls warmth from the air outside into your home—even in cold weather

→ Since heat pumps move heat instead of creating it, they’re far more energy efficient, which means lower utility bills.

  • Up to $8,000 as a stand-alone upgrade, or 100% of costs covered for qualified homeowners as part of a whole home retrofit that projects significant energy savings. Available rebates and incentives will vary based on factors such as household income and size, geographic location, program funding, and other restrictions.

HEAT PUMP WATER HEATER

  • Also known as hybrid water heaters, these units are the most energy-efficient option on the market—using about 70% less electricity than traditional electric water heaters.

    How it works:

These units absorb heat from the surrounding air and use it to warm your water.

They also have backup heating elements for when hot water demand is high.

→ Save money without sacrificing performance.

  • Up to $1,750 as a stand-alone upgrade, or 100% of costs covered for qualified homeowners as part of a whole home retrofit that projects significant energy savings. Available rebates and incentives will vary based on factors such as household income and size, geographic location, program funding, and other restrictions.

INDUCTION STOVE, COOKTOP, OVEN, HEAT PUMP CLOTHES DRYER

  • Upgrading to electric appliances like an induction stove, cooktop, oven, and heat pump clothes dryer brings major benefits in comfort, safety, and efficiency. Induction cooking offers faster, more precise temperature control while keeping kitchen surfaces cooler and safer. Electric ovens and cooktops provide even, consistent heating without the indoor air pollution caused by gas. A heat pump clothes dryer uses far less energy than conventional dryers by recycling warm air, reducing utility bills while being gentler on fabrics. Together, these upgrades make homes healthier, quieter, and more energy-efficient.

  • Up to $750 per qualifying appliance, or 100% of costs covered for qualified homeowners as part of a whole home retrofit that projects significant energy savings. Available rebates and incentives will vary based on factors such as household income and size, geographic location, program funding, and other restrictions.

WEATHERIZE YOUR HOME FOR MAXIMUM ENERGY SAVINGS

Weatherization of your home consists of interventions like air sealing and insulation. It reduces air leaks (from cracks and gaps in your home’s walls, floors, and ceilings), helping keep indoor temperatures consistent and energy costs low.

→ Your home energy audit will identify the best ways to weatherize your home.

FAQs

1. What is the Bright Homes Energy Savers Program?

We are a mission-driven organization that helps homeowners access energy-efficient home upgrades—like heat pumps, weatherization, and induction stoves—by leveraging rebates and incentive programs. We focus on supporting low- and moderate-income households.

2. What kinds of upgrades can I get through the program?

Depending on your home and eligibility, upgrades may include:

  • Heat pump HVAC systems

  • Heat pump water heaters

  • Induction stoves (with compatible cookware)

  • Electrical panel upgrades

  • Weatherization (insulation, air sealing, etc.)

  • Smart thermostats

3. How much will it cost me?

For qualified homeowners, many upgrades are heavily subsidized or fully covered by available federal, state, or utility rebates. If there are any out-of-pocket costs, you’ll be given a clear breakdown ahead of time and can decide whether to proceed.

4. How do I know if I qualify?

Eligibility depends on factors like household income, utility provider, and the current condition of your home. The first step is getting in touch - we’ll work with you every step of the way to determine optimal savings across available federal, state, and utility programs.

5. Do I need to own my home to participate?

No - but you will need the homeowner’s consent. Renters (tenants) are eligible for upgrades with the consent of the owner of the home.

6. What’s the process from start to finish?

  1. Submit basic info here.

  2. Complete an eligibility check, if required by the program or utility provider

  3. Schedule a home energy assessment

  4. Receive a recommended upgrade proposal

  5. Approve any proposed work and out-of-pocket costs (if applicable)

  6. Installation by a qualified local contractor

  7. Final walkthrough and follow-up support

7. How long does the process take?

Timelines vary by location and contractor availability, but most projects take 2–8 weeks from the initial assessment to installation. Timelines may vary based on program requirements and eligibility requirements. The Bright Homes Energy Savers Program works to speed up the timeline whenever possible, while operating within rebate program constraints.

8. Who installs the upgrades?

We work with trusted, licensed contractors who are trained on energy efficient technologies and meet our quality standards. A Bright Homes Local Project Manager will help coordinate everything.

9. Will the upgrades disrupt my home or require me to leave?

Most installations can be completed in one or two days with minimal disruption. We will give you advance notice and work with your schedule to minimize inconvenience.

10. Do I get to choose which upgrades I receive?

You will always have the final say. After your energy assessment, we’ll recommend upgrades that make the most impact for your home, along with the available rebates and incentives to make them happen. Some rebates and incentives are only available for certain upgrade types, or certain homes.

11. What if something breaks after installation?

All contractors are licensed and certified to provide the work being performed. Post-installation, contractors will provide you with a manufacturer’s warranty on the appliances installed and help you understand how to maintain your new equipment. If issues arise, we’ll connect you to the right support.
